Easter blessing, did you have the same one??

It has never been more apparent than during a holiday meal (Easter) why I got my sleeve and what it helps me do. I ate a little. I enjoyed it. I walked away from the table. Done

Before I would have over eaten, regretted it, beat myself up for it in my head, vowed to diet the next day, and layed on the couch in a food coma! In fact, I didnt have to participate in any of the "I need to go on a diet tomorrow" spiels what went on amongst the women.

I have the power to walk away from the table!

Yeah for my sleeve and yay for me! I am sure many of you had the same freedom yesterday and I am rejoicing with you.

Yesterday i walked away from a wonderful family foodfest for the first time not feeling like food was the enemy! I went, I ate, I enjoyed and then like you said..I walked away.

It was so nice to finally not DREAD an event because of the binge/self hatred cycle I knew it would start....

I had a very grateful sleeve day yesterday!

SO happy with my sleeve!   8 months post op today and I was able to have a tiny bit of every healthy thing on the table, PLUS another bite of ham, because I wanted it..... And that was all I wanted, all I needed, and what was good for me.   Love it.
This is the way to really celebrate a holiday.  Good family and friends, good food, and good feelings after the meal.
Thanks for sharing.

I ate better yesterday, BUT it started a chain reaction of hunger in my body now.  With saying this, I haven't had my surgery yet, but I'm feeling back on track now....  I ate a ribeye steak, green beans, new potatoes, scalloped potatoes, potatoe salad, corn on the cob, but little portions. Yes I was in potato heaven....

I wish I would've done that well. This is what happened on Thanksgiving but yesterday I ate and ate and ate, grazed and grazed and felt so full and miserable. I gaine 1.6 lbs just from yesterday! I went from 209 to 214 this past week and so mad at myself. I have been going through personal stuff with my hubby and I admit I have been eating for emotional reasons. So hard to break those habits once I start them again. :(

It is a wonderful feeling to just eat a little and walk away satisfied without being gorged!

I haven't been sleeved yet, but I can honestly say that I didn't over indulge yesterday. I am so proud of myself. I ate in moderation and didn't go back for seconds. I didn't even eat dessert and I went for a walk after dinner. Yay me.  I can't wait to eat even less when I am sleeved. I am so looking forward to it.
