Between the gym and this morning's giant (TMI) poop...
Between getting back to the gym for the first time yesterday since having surgery and the GIANT poop I gave birth to this morning, I have finally broken my losing pause!
I've been doing all the right stuff, drinking at least 2 liters daily, getting at least 65gm protein, etc... and have been super frustrated at not having lost anything more, though I have been repeating to myself "Self, when else in your life have you lost 29lbs in 6 weeks? Never!" so I wasn't feeling too bad because I knew things would pick back up again.

Anyhow, I got back onto the gym wagon yesterday, did a really good 60 minute cardio workout on the eliptical machine and the treadmill (well, good enough for my first time back that is-- not TOO strenuous), then in the evening I met a girlfriend for a walk on a local trail. I wore wrist weights (2.5lbs each) for that walk and exercised my arms the entire time. I don't think I am going to be wearing the weights for awhile yet though because the combination of the bouncing from walking on uneven surfaces and the weights pulling me down gave me an awful backache.

With all of the exercise, I made sure to drink almost an extra liter of water yesterday. I think I'm going to re-introduce daily stool softeners into my pill box again though (I'd only been taking them every other night, the night before I take my iron supplementation which I take every other day). But I just recently amped up my calcium and even though it also has magnesium, I've been having a harder time moving my bowels (no pun intended?). The increased water should also help.

Anyway, just wanted to share my successes! I had forgotten how much I enjoyed working out and can't wait to make it a regular part of my routine again!

Glen, sometimes I add benefiber to my crystal lite, and I take colace every other day, but without the huge amounts of veggies and fruits my body was used to (not to mention all of the processed fats and oils and crap I was eating), things are just moving along a little more slowly. As long as it's not stopped though, I'm happy!
And I can't wait to get back to the gym for some more cardio today-- thanks for the message!

Wow! sounds like you shoulda took a picture of that Guiness Record Poop! EEEEEEUUUUUU! LOL! my doc told me to take one colace every night before bed, so I go to buy them and they are like 20.00 for a small supply so I look at the store brand (CVS) and it is like 5$ for a month supply. Same exact ingredients.. guess which one I bought! So far its been keeping me going just fine. And I was told it is not habit forming and ok to take daily.
