Does anyone drink any liqour or wine on the vsg? Does it or will it affect the sleeve? I had a few drinks this weekend...( parrot bay with pineapple juice), but im scared to drink to much.

I've seen a number of people who do. I don't if it's going to affect your stomach, but jus****ch out for the quick effects, the extra calories, and transfer addictions.

If you're still losing weight, take it easy because you're going to put a lot of stress on your liver.

having reached goal, i have an occasional glass of wine and my doctor says its fine to do so. Its not such a good idea during weight loss phase only because its some empty calories and might result in nibbling the fattening food that often goes with drinks. I do confess to having some wine at a wedding when I was still about 25 lbs away from goal but nothing bad happened. I sure wouldn't try any until i was at least 6 months out.   Diane

I had 2 glasses of wine and 2 shots of cinnamon vodka at a party one night, had no problems and couldn't even get a little buzz!  That was 3 months post op.  I am now 4 months and haven't had any since.

I only really drink wine but I haven't since surgery. Funny, because drinking was a rarity for me before but now that I "can't", I've been wanting to! But nah, doc said okay to have a glass at 6 months. Said to try it at home first rather than out in public because it will probably affect me much quicker.
