Sum it up in one sentence
My sentence would be: "my experience was not nearly as difficult as I expected...minimal post-op pain, needed very few pain meds...felt better every single day once I was home from the hospital". That's kind of a "run-on" sentence, but you get the idea!!! Wish I could have done it sooner, but insurance wasn't "open" to that! Best wishes as you continue your journey, Viv

My sentence would be: "Weeks one and two I felt weak, then weak in the knees when I realized I'd lost 20 lbs by week four."
I would not describe the first month as brutal, for me it was only two or three weeks of not my best, but the result was definitely worth it. I mean, really, I never expected I'd be able to lose that much weight in 4 weeks. I was willing to stand on my head for a month if it would help me to lose that much weight.
I felt quite weak and low energy until I could get some semi-solid food in, but once I had just a small amount of food I felt much better, and when I got on the scales and saw the results of my new eating pattern, I was thrilled.
Keep your goal in mind, and stay away from the scales for the first two weeks! Best Wishes!

"Nothing tastes as good as being thin feels!"
My first 3 months were hell because of complications from the band to sleeve revision. So, I can not comment on the first month rule. My first month was beyond brutal, but now at over 2 years out, I would endure every struggle, complication, and obstacle to live the life I have to this very day ! ! !
