Strange rash (2.5 weeks out)

I think I'm a mutant!

I noticed the skin on my side felt strange and bumpy yesterday but I had on a ribbed tank and thought maybe it was just that. I just noticed that my entire belly from bra line down to bikini line and from side to side is covered in these clear little bumps. It's a little pink in some areas and a little bit itchy.

Any idea what this could be?

My husband thinks that it's the hairs regrowing because they shaved my entire abdomen-- What?? I only have fine blonde peach fuzz, like normal.
Do they shave us??? Seems odd cause it's not like you need to get through a pelt!

If your surgeon shaved your entire abdomen, he's the FREAK! WTF?! I've never heard of that...

Thank you! I think my husband is nuts. They operate around that fine body hair all the time, right? And I can SEE the hair in the light so it's there not shaved off.

You guys don't think the rash is anything to worry about do you? I'll call the office tomorrow just in case.

I got something similar at about a week out. Doc said to put hydrocortisone cream on it to reduce the inflammation. Not on the incisions, though. It was probably from the all the iodine/betadine wash & adhesives they used before and after surgery.

Good idea to call him tomorrow just in case.

I got a huge allergic reaction to the antibiotic I was on for my c diff infection. Ended up in the ER on Friday night. Ugh. I'm a mutant, too, I guess.

I guess the good news for me is that I had just finished my last dose of the offending antibiotic right before i got the reaction, so I didn't have to go on another one (knock on wood).

Yes, they used to shave all the hair off! Because it would create a sterile area!
It will itch when it grows back!!

Yes, it probably was some sort of reaction to coming off the medications. Definitely keep an eye on it though :) I became gluten intolerant a few months after my VSG and now have to keep to a GF diet, or else I am constantly covered in the very painful, itchy DH rash of Gluten allergy! (However, I was probably sensitive for years, and the surgery made things just get more intense. Good luck!) What you said about the shaving, even though it sounds funny - I think it's probably true as it makes sense!lol
