On hour to drink protein shake??
It would help to know when you had surgery. I'm assuming you had surgery in the last couple days in which case - yes, that's normal. If you can drink it in an hour, that's great. Don't try and drink less unless you are uncomfortable (physically).

Yes, Smardee best advise ever...I learned that the hard way. Was having pains between my bQQbs in chest area and I was worried I messed with the stitches of my hernia fix. Come to find out I got a little ****y and started to take bigger gulps before my sleeve was ready for it. Smaller drinks more frequently = happy sleeve.

It took me two weeks out from surgery before I could finish a whole protein shake and then it needed to be on the thin side.
You could also add skim milk or water to thin down the protein shake... might make it go down easier.
Don't pu**** to discomfort or pain as the others have already mentioned. Fluids are more important than protein your first week or two.
