How do you get your fiber?

I have continually struggled with getting in fiber, since surgery.  I try to use Miralax in my shake for breakfast daily, but God forbid I skip a day.

So I am asking HOW DO YOU GET FIBER IN YOUR DIET, post-surgery?

I was a having a hard time with the bathroom post-op and I tried different things and finally now what's been working I eat a Fiber One bar every other day- and now I am totally fine-knock on wood.

Crystal Light fiber is amazing! Tastes good, get in the fiber I need and generally no issues. Or fiber gummies (for adults), or metamucil pills have worked well for me as well.

Dry roasted edamame (which also has a fair amount of protein) and Scandinavian crispbread (bought on Amazon).  If I have one serving of one of these a day, I can usually make up the rest of the fiber I need in other food.

 Kale or collards or other green veggies.   Early on, I put them in my VitaMix and blended with chicken broth

Fruits and veggies. Im only getting in small amounts from those but its a start. I go off/on with fiber supplements trying to tweak things to fix the bathroom issues, but my docs overall opinion is to stay away from fiber if you have chronic constipation.

Stool softeners are a must - every day.

I think I am losing my memory along with the weight.  I used to take stool softners and i stopped for some reason.
