When to Introduce Raw Vegetables

I am 7 weeks out today.  I am not eating raw vegetables.  I am hardly eating any vegetables at all.  However, pre-surgery most of my veggies were consumed raw, as salads (spinach), slaw (cabbage).  I also really love asparagus, which I hear can cause problems because it is so fibrous.

I *know* my tummy is not ready for raw vegetables.  I am going to wait until at least 3 months, but am afraid this is still too early.  Since I don't have precise guidelines, can you guys let me know what your plans said about raw veggies?

I could start regular foods (including raw veggies) at six weeks. However...they always filled me up really fast and gave me a case of what I call "bubble guts". A year out I still get bubble guts when I have salad sometimes.  As with everything start out small and see how your tummy reacts and go from there.  Waiting until you are 3 months out isn't a bad idea.

The program I'm with allows a regular diet at the 6 week mark.  I have had raw baby carrots, bell peppers, celery, and tomatoes - all without problem.  I have also eaten cooked asparagus without any problems.  Granted, the amount I eat of any of these veggies is very small.  I haven't tried salad yet, as it doesn't seem worth the little bit I could have, and others have had issues with lettuce.  I guess each SWL program is different as is each of our bodies.

At 6 weeks all restriction were taken off my food and i started on raw veggies.  I started with lettuce because it has so much water content it takes up very little space and so i had it with everything.  i can also eat a decent amount of it so when i am eating out socially a salad is a good choice for me because i don't seem like such a freak with my three tablespoons or whatever.  It never interfered with my protein intake.  Tomatoes i had been pureeing from the mushie stage for my tuna salad.  after the lettuce i graduated to cucumber and red peppers to have with my tuna salad etc.  I never had a problem.  But let me say i never had a sleeve i had to baby.  Every stage was incredibly easy for me and i never had a problem with foods or amounts from day !.  Hope this helps.

Im 4 months out, and tried raw veggies for the first time this weekend. It was okay - but I got very uncomfortable after a few bites, and then couldn't eat for a while after that. It was almost worse than dense protein -

I dont think I will make it a habit because it will make it hard to eat a meal after that, so I might have a veggie snack or something, but I plan on sticking with cooked, or at least slightly steamed/sauteed veggeis since they dont bother me as much.

Allowed to eat raw fruits and vegetables at 3 months. Doctor reccommends that I stay away from fibouros foods. My challenge is that by the time I get my protein in I don't have room for anything else. Doctor also said this was normal and for me not to worry about eat to many fruits and veges now.

my meeting with the nutritionist isn't until next week, but I was wondering about juicing veggies and consuming them that way. would that work for our tummies? I haven 't had WLS yet, but I'm preparing and i want ot be as healthy as possible after. Has anyone tried juicing? Does it work well?
