hunger...
I eat between 600-700 calories a day, mostly meats, eggs and cheeses. Occasionally a bite or two of veggies or fruit. I've managed to lose 30lbs since pre-op...25 since surgery. I am working my way off of a stall right now.
Overall, I think I am doing pretty well but I do feel hunger, and it is NOT head hunger...it real...in my gut hunger, but goes away with a bite or two.
Anyone else have hunger so soon out? I am not worrie..just curious =)
While I did not have hunger the first few days after surgery (I had pain instead), my hunger came back promptly.
I can manage my hunger better, now that I can have real food. I have 3 meals a day, a skim latte in the morning (does not help with hunger, but I love it so much that I have it instead of a snack), and 1-2 snacks after noon.
My hunger levels change depending on the day/week/month. A month ago, my morning hunger was gone. Now, it seems like I get very hungry within 2 hours after eating, no matter what time of day. To try to manage this, I am trying to not drink at all 30 minutes before eating (and of course never drink within 30 minutes afterwards), and I try to eat slower. Note, I ALWAY eat my protein first at meal and snack time. I eat about 2 oz dense protein for a meal w/ 1/8 to 1/4 cup of fruit/veggies if I have room. I eat about 1 oz dense protein for a snakc.
I also started getting bad head hunger about a week ago... can't wait till that starts easing up a little!

The first few weeks, I couldn't tell if it was hunger, pain, acid, or just my stomach gurgling. Gradually, it has come back as my eating habits have stabilized.
I'm kind of glad that I am appropriately hungry. It gives me hope that I can eat like a normal person -- you know, when I'm actually hungry. LOL
