Was in a rut till today!!!! Didnt realize how much I wanted it until they said I couldnt have it.

So this morning my doctor called me and ask me if i had gotten my 5yr weight history which i had read my policy over and over and now they no longer require it. so i called the indian clinic I had been to since i was little for every year of my life so the 5yr weight history isnt really a problem but before i called the clinic and made them fax a million papers, i wanted to make sure that they really needed that, so i called my insurance, the first lady i talked to was really nice, but sounded confused about the question that i was asking and said that she didnt see that it was even covered at all.... and that she would call me back in the afternoon and let me know. So I got the call around 3:50pm and it was from one of their supervisors she said the same thing weight loss is not a covered benefit. I was like are you kidding me I called in April when i first started this whole process and again in may just to make completly sure that i was covered. I then told her the specific company that i work for and she said that she would look for me and call me back but she was getting off at 4 so it might be tomorrow or Monday. Lucky the lady was awsome and didnt feel right about making me wait.  She called me back 5mins later and told me that she double checked because i sounded like i knew what i was talking about... and low and behold i am covered for the sleeve YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i was about to freak out and start crying because my place is submitting to insurance today so now i get to call tomorrow and see if they can send it off then instead of monday.  But thank god for that lady i dont think ive been that scared since my dad had heart surgery last year, but everything is now good and i am scheduled for NOV 22nd No longer in my funk and super excited!!!!!!!

Good for you.   I remember how relieved I was to receive my date.  Congrats.

First of all, I am glad for you, but what happened? What if you did not pursue this with supervisor ..?? What if you just took her word? I wonder how many others are mislead. Geez..Good for you and your perseverance.. a sign that YOU deserve this new life, lifestyle!!

 I know I thought the same thing I was gonna see my benifits lady tomorrow if they kept saying no... I was like dang what if they just say no until you really push them... because I was about to be so depressed and just go to mexico and get it... I will def be talking about that experience at my next support groups meeting lol
