May Sleevers Weekend Check-In!

Crunchy As Can Be
on 11/6/11 5:11 am - NY
Just checking in to see how all of my fellow May surgery brothers and sisters are doing.

I'm doing well-- had my first successful vacation post-sleeve and did pretty well, especially with exercising which I did 4x on my 7 day cruise (that means four 5k's on the treadmill!) as well as extra times at the hotel being stuck and waiting for flights for a couple of days back up to NY after the terrible snow storms.

Also have been quite stressed out with moving (both my mom, then myself) in a housing swap situation and didn't do so great dealing with my emotions in a non-food way for awhile, but am very much back on track and am losing weight again just the way I want to be.

So overall, things are ok. Coming up on my 6 month anniversary seems scary, but totally exciting as well because I can see the changes I've made in my life and I can feel how well it's making me feel...

How are y'all doing lately??

Looks like you are doing well.  Congrats!

I have reached a pattern, I lose for a week and stall for three.  It is not my preferred method but heck, it all adds up!  I am trying to find other ways to deal with my emotions as well instead of turning to food.  I failed a time or two but I am learning and trying to figure out my triggers.

I am also scared about coming up to the 6 month mark. I want to know if my weight loss will slow even more  :::gasp:::

I am very pleased with my decision and my progess.  However, I know that I had a few days there where I could have done better; however, I learn knew things daily.

Good luck!

Fabulous job ladies!  I'm getting excited for Christmas.  I remember last year about this time as I was still going through my six months for insurance purposes how excited I was that I was no longer going to be as huge in the Christmas pictures in 2011.  I may even sneak in out portraits this year, who knows (usually we just have the kids in there...)

Anyways - I also had a big vacation this month - I went to Cabo on a work conference.  I did okay - I didn't gain but I didn't lose.  I ate well but there was one day where I had several drinks, even though I've had none since surgery.  I got my buzz on but it wasn't too bad.

I was slowing down a bit when I wasn't remembering to note my food log.  I think I was picking up too many carbs that way.  I started losing again after that.  I'm hoping, but this may be a bit too lofty to be down 100 pounds by Thanksgiving.  Hey, stranger things have happened. = )

(P.S. - I'm proud of myself - I did spell check and had no errors! )

i was sleeved 5/25/11.  I am 60 pounds down.  the weight lose has slowed down, but I have learned to eat around the sleeve a bit.  Back on track, but overall very please with the sleeve.  I wouldn't trade it for the world.  I just started boot camp so I hope that helps.  great job every one...in the may surgery....

Had surgery in may - around 200 lbs now at 164 been stalled since sept 22nd----don't feel much restriction at all----goal is 135 and wanted to get to that by end of year but that doens't look like it's gonna happen now----
I don't drink and eat- and I don't drink any soda at all anymore - used to drink 5-6 cokes a day----I have added more carbs back in and need to cut them down a  bit and up the protein I guess.....still doing at least 1 shake a day usually morning or lunch- might add another back to get the 20extra grams of protein.....

can start to tell the weight loss but hoping mine isn't done.....:)

I feel great and have been doing well. I was determined NOT to have a stall just as I approached onederland, but did for two weeks anyways. Now that the stall has broken I'm super motivated again. I hoped to be down 100 pounds by my six month anniversary, but it looks like it will be closer to five and a half months out!!

I still have great restriction and have been doing well on my eating plan with just a few slip-ups (darn pistachio nuts). Really need to step up my exercise routine, but I'm proud of myself for getting on the treadmill and walking regularly.

I'm also excited about getting some decent family pictures without having to hide behind hubby and kids!

OK so im a little late with my check in but I just wanted to say Im very excited and scared about being at the 6 month mark. I hit 6 months tomorrow and I hope the weight loss doesnt stop Im so close to goal!!! I have actually been thinking about lowering my goal!! I have noticed also that I can eat more then I should so I have been trying to go back to keeping the portions small or stopping before my plate is empty. I also still suck at getting in enough water. I have never liked water. Worst yet I am so nervous about holiday food!!!! I usually am in charge of making lots of yummy things for work and family get togethers but this year is going to have to be different. Eggface is gonna have to help me make something yummy for the holidays this year. Good luck everyone and have an amazing holiday season and happy surgiversary!!!!
