This is a Salmon I buy pre-marinated at a Japanese Market. It's about a 3-day marinade in a Miso/Sake paste like marinade....... Pretty good deal......same price as the Salmon....with free flavor!!!

Served with Cucumber Daikon Sunomono....

Each skewer is about 1.7oz. by weight.

This is high end eatin !!!!!!!!

Did you grill the salmon?  It looks marvelous.  I've always enjoyed most types of fish but salmon is usually my favorite and there are so many ways to prepare it.

miso flavored anything tastes soo good!!  this looks divine!  wish i could make this but a girl can dream.

Frisco, am curious... are you roughly eating 2 - 3 oz of protein so far out post surgery ??  or is this more of a choice for you to control your eating??

I hear/read of others being able to eat more or less...  just wanted to know what to expect a 1 year+ post surgery.  :)

thanks!

Hey TWM,

So if you haven't heard my (actually my doctors recommendation) sermon on under eating......

Basically I have been a self appointed case study on under eating the sleeve since day one of this process.

How much can I eat 2+ years out..... I don't really know for sure..... I think I know cause I've gotten the foamies several times inside the first year....each time it caught me by surprise....cause I thought I was under.....

According to my surgeon...... his sleeves are volumed to accommodate 2oz. in the beginning and mature to 4oz.

Don't even be fooled for one second by people saying the sleeve cannot stretch......Yes, the spine of the stomach which is primarily used for the VSG is less stretchy than the main fundus. Key word is "Less" The less stretchy part still stretches. It is tissue....not steel. The only way to stretch your sleeve is constant over eating.......ie. eating till your full......

So I figured out early on....if I don't eat till I'm full....guess what....no stomach stretching!

I base my maintenance meals on generally.....2oz. +/- protein and 1oz. of veggie. This amount is very satisfying..... and mostly never any issues. Eating is about taste and flavor....Quality over Quantity.

I am going to guess that my restriction has not changed since month 4-5-or6.......and I don't intend for it to change from here on out.

Preserving your restriction by intake control leads to what the real goal is......long term maintenance of a constant weight range.

**About "Food Lube" I guess it's just a good habit to get into.....it pretty much insures good food flow along with good chewing and slow eating.

What ya gotta know is that a properly made sleeve is more narrow than your esophagus.....so it does naturally funnel down a little and anything you can do to help the flow will save you from any discomforts.

Hope this answers....

Answers a lot and makes a lot of sense. i'm 7 months out and very concerned about stretching my sleeve. Have been trying to figure out a way to "preserve" my current restriction. You've just given me the answer!

Dude, you're the BEST!!! Will give it a go. I agree - food is about quality of the food and the taste. I don't need a 20 oz steak anymore.
So why pu**** Seems so logical but i must confess, i haven't always eaten that way. Now i'm inspired to find my balance and stick with it.

I'm sure there are others out there wondering.... What do you plan to eat for thanksgiving? Also, how do you navigate this holiday....

I will post a new thread on this but wanted to ask you directly.

Thx!!

Looks lovely.  Something I've been wondering about when you post.  You talk about lube a lot.  Do you still need lube 21/2 years out?
