Oops, passed my century mark (and Ruggie's brief background story)
Very cool! Also a nice touch that your partner noticed it and got you a card.
My highest weight is also my weight a week before surgery (right when I started my preop diet) so lucky me, I get to use one starting weight for everything. Can't believe I let it get that bad. Such is life.
Congrats!

You're awesome Reggie! What a great story, thank you for sharing and thank your Partner for stepping up and being the kind caring mate we all want. (I'm lucky, I have a super-wonderful DH of 42 years)
I was torn as to how to place my numbers as I was at my highest Dec. 2010 and approved last February for VSG. Three days away from surgery date it was cancelled as they discovered I had stage 1 lung cancer. After that surgery and during the year I was able to maintain the weight I was after 10 days of preop diet. When I decided I just had to complete this journey, my weight was 212 so that's where I started... even though I worked hard at the first 20! It's all good to me as long as I get this weight off not only for my back and knees... but a healthy body that eats and drinks healthy (for me organic) will also fight off those cancer cells we all hoard inside our bodies! My cells won't have a fighting chance!!! (LOL) Get your health under control and keep up the great work.

Man, you've come a long way into self-realization! And your progress including slipping back into old habits is something I relate to. I fall off the wagon, roll around in the gutter until I'm disgusting and disgusted with myself, then I get up, take a shower (I think of this as self reflection, realizing what I'm doing so I can work on changing) and getting back on that wagon. I may end up doing this for the rest of my life, but my goal is to not grovel as long and shower sooner.
So now you have this amazing tool, an amazing partner, a great job! Life really is good.

Whoo hoo! WTG Ruggie. FWIW, I think your high weight is a perfectly fine number to use. It isn't like those pounds just magically went away, you had to work to get them off too,
My MFP and OH tickers don't match. I use my highest weight here but the MFP one picks up my weight from when I started logging. The difference is only a few pounds though,

Congrats on reaching the century mark!!! You know you are a ""true blue" vsg patient when you pass that mark without even realizing it - its become a new way of life (but yes I know you had those other health issues and am glad there is improvement there)
Loved your story. It struck a familiar note for many of us. Keep up with your posts. they are fun.
And I put my peak weight on my ticker even though I lost 17 lbs before surgery. I think that using the true peak weight helps us face the crisis we were in and also celebrate how far we have come. Its all one big journey. Either way, I am over 100 lbs down and my husband is now at a total of 85 so his century mark will be coming up soon! together we have lost over 200 lbs and the floor in the front hall doesn't creak when we walk by anymore.
So celebrate that 130 number. Its a wonderful accomplishment and this time its GONE FOR GOOD!! Diane
