Most recommended Mexico surgeon for VSG?
I had mine done with Dr. Ortiz in TJ.
Absolutely no complaints about him, his staff, his facility.
But now my daughter is going to get WLS and I'm reconsidering him because he seems to be pushing the Plication.
I know he participates in the studies that are ongoing.
I would like to explore the surgeons a little more, just to make sure she gets the right information to make her decision.

No complaints about him either, I went to him twice...he tried pushing the plication on me, too. But I pushed back. And he did the sleeve. Glad I did, too. I keep hearing how hungry people are and I thought my losing with the sleeve was slow going! The plication rates of losing seem to be comparable with the band or slower...I think you should look into Alvarez--his patients seem to have great loss rates!
Ditto the above poster: have a look at Dr. Alvarez - endobariatric.com. He is top-notch. Also Dr. Aceves is highly respected and recommended.

I had an incredible experience with Dr. Alvarez, if I had everything to do over again I would do everything exactly the same. I had my own private room, private nurse most of the day and anything I needed. If you have any questions feel free to ask.
P.S. I know everyone is different but my loss isn't anything to sneeze at, he made me a super sleeve!

If I hadn't moved to where I could get the VSG covered by an MTF I would go to Alvarez.
