Ruggie T-shirt #7. Space Needs Color from Threadless

This episode of Ruggie's Geeky T-Shirt collection is "Space Needs Color" sold by Threadless. I must say I feel a little jipped here, as if you look at the picture of the model, it seems the decal is significantly bigger on his shirt than mine.  Hrm.

I like this shirt for a few reasons - first, I'm a space shuttle fanboy.  (I know way too much shuttle trivia!)  Next, I love the use of rainbow colors against a dark background.  Third, I love that the booster shuttles are paint tubes instead of rockets - this makes me think about my love for sci-fi, and how space travel and exploration is really a bastion of exploration and the unknown, and that we can "paint" what we want to do.

Yes, it's XL, and yes, it's too big.  But I'm gonna wear it once before I donate it.

Frisco's right. these should be cut up and stitched together for wall hanging, pillow covers, quilt, or other art.   D

I never got that Queer Eye gene... or something....  I can solder electrical components on a circuit board, and I'm one of the best micropipetters around, but I can't stitch or create stuff like that at all :(  I go to Michaels and I feel lost.

Ditto Frisco.

My friend got a mannequin at a second hand store and when you walk up to her door she usually has it dressed in some kind of "statement" theme.

Quite a cool idea, I say.

Give it a try.

I wouldnt donate them either. they would definitely become art somehow or a nice warm quilt (since I live in Wisconsin I need all the blankets I can get) or logo art or something. Your shirt collection is pretty awesome I must say!
