Does anyone have sugar and cream with their coffee?

Hi there-
I am considering vsg and was wondering what habits of mine will need to change. I know that I will have to give up carbonated beverages. That will be hard because I love Coke--but I accept that. But I wonder if coffee with Coffeemate and sugar is a reality for someone with vsg. I haven't found an artificial sweetener that I like and I steer clear from aspartame because it triggers migraines for me.
So I just wondered if anyone else puts creamer in their coffee with a bit of sugar. I use 1 teaspoon of sugar and the liquid CoffeeMate. Will I need to give that up permanently or will it be something I only have to give up in the beginning?
Thanks so much for your help!
Sincerely,
Pam

Well I do decaf. hispanic coffee with coffemate & splenda. I'm used to the splenda b/c thats all I've ever used.
I didn't like coffee alot until after surgery. I did wait until I was about 5-6 weeks before drinking any. Some things change after surgery. I used to drink soda also & had a taste last week & I really hated the taste!!
Good luck to you!! You can do it, it'll change your life.

I was addicted to Pepsi Maxx before surgery. Would stockpile them. I still have 3 bottles in my cabinet with dust on them. I have no desire to drink them, but could if I wanted to. I have had carbonated drinks, but find the ones with the most carbonation, such as Coke and Sprite make me a little uncomfortable. I can drink any of them slowly, but just don't much anymore.
I drink my coffee with sugar free coffeemate and splenda. Tastes better than sugar to me.

I was a major Starbucks Toffee Nut Latte drinker, like two a day - on top of regular coffee with milk and sugar. I haven't desired Starbucks not once since my surgery, and I now drink ONE cup of coffee in the morning with Splenda and milk. If I can give up a six cup a day habit, anyone can change their habits.
I have to have my coffee in the morning (sigh)
But I have found that the whole milk that I use...I use very strong expresso style coffee with 1/2 cup steamed milk..adds a lot of cals/carbs that I wish I could do without at this point. Mostly because I am close to goal and now have to choose between this and that. (sigh)
I love my coffee but I no longer drink it throughout the day, just in the morning. The sleeve makes this choice easy.
But the morning coffee, not such an easy decision. Without milk is not an option.
When you get close to goal, the choices you make early on will make the choices you NEED to make later on....a whole hell of a lot easier.
good luck,
donna

Im a coffee addict. I was using SF creamer in my coffee but recently switched to unsweetend almond milk (has far far fewer calories) and artificial sweetner. If you are going to have one cup of coffee a day, I can't see that it would be that bad, but if youre like me and might have multiple cups in one day...that might not be the best idea.
