Sleeved and Home

 Hi Everyone
Well I had my surgery on the 20th. My Doc said everything went went. She had to repair a hernia that we didn't know about. I am not in pain and never needed any pain meds (happy about that). I came home yesterday and slept in my own bed, on my side without issues.
I have been having a devil of a time with fluids...terrible reflux and heartburn some diarrhea (sorry for the over share there) I have a few moments of "what the hell did I do to myself" but everyone says that is normal
I am not hungry at all but my tiny tummy keeps talking and talking. I am hoping the fluids get easier and my tummy settles down but I am feeling better each day so I guess I am doing well.

That you didnt need any pain meds is a very good sign! To get your fluids in, you have to train that little tummy to take them, that's why they say sip sip sip, even if its a teaspoonful at a time but fluids are vital.
Congrats on your successful surgery!

Congratulations !!! No pain meds is fabulous. Just be gentle with yourself, and take tiny sips of fluids. Try all different temperatures of fluids -- for me, it was warm ones that felt best at first. Then ice cold ! And it can change daily at first !!! Get in as much walking as possible to guard against blood clots, and to wake up your system from the anesthesia. Know that everyday you will feel better than the next !!!

I am feeling good just wish my stomack would settle down a bit. It seems like the fluids I take in don't stay with me too long.
