Restriction question

Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this...

I was sleeved in Tuesday morning. Wednesday and yesterday morning it was pretty tough even getting an ounce of fluids through the sleeve. Last night and this morning it seems to suddenly be going down a whole lot easier. I am guessing this is normal and perhaps swelling just went down.

Thoughts?

Yes, it is almost certainly the swelling.  Have a drink (of water!) to celebrate!

Nice!  That means your swelling is going down already!    Just keep doing your sipping and you will get stronger and stronger.

I am 7 weeks out now and can take several med-large swallows now of water/crystal light at once.  It seems that most people can drink *almost* completely normal again after awhile.

yes, I was sleeved on last Thursday and I can take much larger sips now - this is making my pills MUCH easier to swallow.  On a couple of my meds, I had had to be switched to liquids as the even the smallest of the pills were just too large.  The first time I tried one I was in tears as it seemed to get firmly stuck.  The nurse seemed a little panicky which didn't help but then a belch happened, it went down and all was better.

Glad you're healing!.  If it helps, try sucking on Ice cubes or Ice chips.  I did that quite a lot at the beginning to help get my fluids.  I think I didnt even try drinking more than 8 ounces with  until I was released from the hospital.

It gets easier, but continue to avoid gulping.  I still make that mistake occasionally and it can be quite uncomfortable - even 4 months out.

Was sleeved on Monday, and still having problems drinking even small sips.  So ice chips, SF ice pops, and ice cube in my 1 oz cup slowed things down.  Colder the better for me and the swelling.  Found G2 grape is a favorite, and still managing to get fluids in.  Part of my problem is the off gassing from the procedure.  When I see the Dr on Tuesday I am going to ask "So how many PSI did you get my abs up to?"   The analogy you think you hhave a glass of really flat soda, until you drop a mento into it and then bubles come out of nowhere.  In my stomach they have a hard time going anywhere.  I have done a lot of walking, pacing, and stretching.  Each day it is getting easier, and slowly adding protein in where I can, but was told just get fluids first.
