HELP! I know this is TMI but I have not had a BM in about 2 weeks as of today I am only 3 weeks post-op. I have been on Pureed foods since after about 10 days post op,(Nut told me to go ahead and start after my 1st follow up visit)However I was constipated when I was on Liquid only.Is there any products that we can take that will help the constipation but will not cause diarrhea?

I take Miralax. It is not habit forming and I have had no issues with constipation since using it. It mixes well and there is no after taste.

My NUT says if I have not had a BM within 3 days then take a a laxative like Miralax, so you still have 1 day. Also, she says take colace everyday to help ensure no constipation.

I'd take Milk of Magnesia to get things moving again, and I'd do it NOW!  The last thing you want is to be impacted.

Then make sure you stay regular using miralax, or colace, or fiber or whatever else works for you.

I take  2 fiber gummies daily, which usually do the job. If not, I drink a cup of  smooth move tea in the evening and  by morning, things are moving normally. No stomach cramps, etc.

My Doc recommended Miralax also, but it didn't work on me.  I was in the same boat as you and continue to have off/on problems now at 2 months.  I remembered reading a post by one of the Vets saying she ate 1/2 a Quest bar every day and it kept her regular.  So I tried it last week and after the 2nd day I have been regular every day since!  Plus I feel like I'm having a treat...
