EXERCISE
I walk everyday for about 45-1 hour which has been good...but I would like to start some vigorous cardio like p90X or maybe even some Tae-Bo or maybe light jogging or running in stages of course...I just don't want to hurt myself. Now at 269-270 pounds I would do these with no problem(when I was in my oh I want to lose weight phase). But I understand my body is different now.At what point can I implement this kind of exercise?
Start gradually and just do it- with doctor's permission. It is not overnight. You don't have to wait until you have lost a lot more. Just pay attention to your body.
I run on Mondays and Thursdays. I started sprints about 50 pounds ago. 1-2 minutes long every 5-10 minutes. I do other stuff on the other days so I won't injure myself or overstress the parts that tend to hurt on me: feet, hip, back.
Your heart rate knows when you step it up. You can do the p90x as long as you modify where necessary. I'm a strong believer in modification and checking the heart rate.
Today I did a running clinic. There were runners and walkers in the clinic. I decided to be in the running group. I was the slowest runner, but my heart rate was where I wanted and I ran for the time instructed.

Ask your doctor, and then do what your size will let you. I am doing the couch to 5k running program. It lets helps you gain running skills a little at a time. Honestly, I don't run so much as jog, but it gets my heart rate up and I can do a little more each time. Swimming is a great workout without stress to the joints. I am doing yoga and pilates, but there are some poses that I cannot do because my gut is in the way. When you do the home videos (or stream netflix) most of the shows show variations for different levels of fitness. I have read reviews that the p90x gets boring fast, so check out the reviews on the exersize and fitness forums before purchasing-those are some expensive tapes.
Everyone at my program (doc, pa, nut) says treadmill is fine, weights up to 15 pounds, and to not use my core in a work out for 6 weeks. It's amazing how many moves use your core. Leg lifts, lunges, obviously sit ups/twists. I'm taking it very very seriously. I had 2 hernias repaired and am not wanting to re-injure anything or create new ones. I'd recommend telling your surgeon specifically what you're interested in and seeing what they she/he says.
I could have done weight training and vigorous exercises after 8 weeks but because of back problems I did not start weight training until 4 months out. It depends on your specific medical issues. Sometimes pushing too hard too early can cause injury. you should talk to your doctors and get professional recommendations. Maybe even work with a trainer at first (if possible).
I walked for an hour everyday for the first two weeks. After that, I started adding 5 minutes of jogging every other day until I got up to 30 minutes of jogging and 30 minutes of walking. My doctor told me no weight training for 6-8 weeks out. Listen to your body and take it one day at a time. Good luck.
