Constipation Monster....
Hi guys,I've been away from the boards for the past few days because the constipation monster got a hold of me and it wasn't a good feeling.I was warned that it could happen and boy when you wanna go and can't its not a good feeling.I'm 9 days post op and the drama started Monday,Tuesday i called my Dr office and spoke to the nurse practitioner and asked her what else i could take cause the liquid stool softener that they gave me was not working with my tummy.So she gave me the ok on drinking prune juice&milk of magnesium.So Tuesday between my water,protein shake i drank all the things that she told me i could.No relief,Yesterday the same thing no relief.The pain and pressure had me in tears.I was crying like a baby.It literally took all my energy away from me that i fell asleep for 12 hrs.
Finally i woke up today and I'm able to GOOOOOOO
That was the best freaking feeling in the world.I was able to using the toilet 4 times this morning already and I'm feeling like a whole new person.I read on here that some people have diarrhea to be honest i think that i would rather the diarrhea instead of the constipation.So for those that have stool softener go ahead drinking it in between whenever you can because you don't want to get to the point where i was.

I'm on a Everchanging journey. 
I went 7 days right after surgery with no BM and the 1st one was the most horrible experience. I still suffer from it 9 mo later, but stool softenerss keep it bearable.

Sorry to hear that I have the opposite and it won't stop and it AIN'T pretty lol I spent 30 min in the shower the other day because I was having niagra falls !!! Ewwww it was terrible you think its better but trust me I can't leave my house in fear ill go to the bathroom on myself. One day I did lol

I take Miralax every day. It's "solved" the constipation issue. Without it, I was really suffering.
Some people do great with milk of magnesia, or colace or benefiber. See what works best for you. But hopefully you won't have to suffer like that again.
