I get sleeved Tuesday but I am always cold after surgery--warm drinks, sweaters, blankets. Repeat

Yes. I think it is a common side effect.
You'd think with the body burning off the stored fuel we'd be on the extra warm side but we get cold easily instead.
Thankfully it is warmer weather these days.
I live in Texas and hope this change will mean I won't burn up this summer.

I never owned a jacket before I had WLS - I used to wear shorts and flip flops all winter. Now, my wardrobe is all jackets and sweaters and turtlenecks, oh my!!!

My family and friends think I've lost my mind - went from hating hot weather and heaters, to now freezing my butt off all the time. It's very common post WLS!

I'm just hoping I will enjoy the scorching 100+ degree summers a little more too.

Yes, this is normal.  I have been called ever since I had my surgery and I live in sunny California.  I always need an extra jacket now.  Small price to pay if you ask me.

I think my surgery might have stopped the menopause thing for a bit for me. Now instead of hot flashes I sit around with my teeth chattering out of my head. I carry a sweater every where and keep an extra sweatshirt in the truck at all times just in case. Me in socks and fuzzy slippers is not an uncommon sight around this house. Im actually looking forward to not putting the AC up in the windows this year lol.

As others have noted, it's quite common - I'm catching up with my wife who had WLS several years ago (though your body will adjust some over time.) Part of it is loss of insulation, part of it is metabolic and circulatory (declining resting heart rate). On the flip side, you will probably find that it takes a lot more work to break into a good sweat.

Yes, I'm definitely more cold now & it happened right after I had surgery. It's kinda nice to not always feel hot like I did before. Yesterday, it was in the high 80's in Southern California & I enjoyed it.

Before surgery, I was always turning on the AC at work. Now, I'm the one wearing the sweater and complaining that it's always cold. I would rather put on a sweater to get warm then to be fat again any day.
