The downside of WLS - blowing money on clothes
I had 15 years+ of clothes that got donated.. you know those 55gal drum liners, half a room full! It took several trips in a Subaru Outback to get them all gone.
I have a revolving pile of "Goodwill" bags, constant donation stream.. though it's slowed a lot now.. I feel more confident to occasionally buy something new if it's a steal. Best thing I ever did was find the most high-end resale shop, and I haunt the place now that I fit into everything again! They sell really nice branded clothes (many seem hardly ever worn) cheap! I have to say though for guys- they don't have much- but then again they are a benefit run for a women's foundation.. so that may be it. Do you luck out with any thrift/consignment shops in your area?
.. and I used to HATE clothes shopping. Not anymore.. I love it now.

What a praise and how exciting for you to get smaller and smaller! Now others can benefit from your weight loss too by buying your old clothes.
I love shopping at Goodwill, Salvation Army and thrift stores... but I still have to limit spending. Hard to do when you see something super cute. I am allowing myself 1 pair of black pants, 1 pair of jeans, 1 skirt and two shirts for each even numbered size from 24 down to 8. Well, that is, until I actually reach that size. Plus, now I have run out of hangers in my spare closet... so my next rule is I have to get rid of an item for every item I buy. Going to be tough, but so excited to start packing away the plus size clothes. I think I am going to pack them and then have a garage sale sometime next year. Posting garage sales on Craig's List goes well around here (Grand Rapids, MI) and I do have a one stall garage and breezeway I can have one in. Never done it before, but I figure I can use any money I get towards some new skinny clothes.

“Not many of us are living at our best. We linger in the lowlands because we are afraid to climb the mountains. The steepness and ruggedness dismay us, and so we stay in the misty valleys and do not learn the mystery of the hills. We do not know what we lose in our self indulgence. What glory awaits us if only we had the courage for the mountain climb. What blessing we should find if only we would move to the uplands of God.? JRM
yep, this post discloses the dirty little secret of wls. the clothing binges. but at least some thrift store is going to get some only slightly used nice stuff!!!
I still have fat clothes to get rid of - just lazy - but some of them are pretty worn out as I think when we were fatter we really wore our clothes out because its hard to find new ones and the comfy ones become favorites. plus we hated to shop.
happy to report that Shrinking Nerd tossed a huge supply of very large underpants the other day. no thrift shop would have wanted these!!!!!
thanks for the reminder that i need to de-junk. Diane

Well, the good news is that you're moving on to smaller clothes, right?
Looks like a donation that will make the recipient organization very happy. I see a lot of blue, grey, and white in there, hee hee.
