What kind of stool softener? I use Miralax almost daily and love it. Also, I take a probiotic which can help regulate you. I use one called Accuflora and I even had started taking magnesium to help with migraines and noticed that magnesium loosened my stools also.

I would probably drink more water, though, especially if you are taking a stool softener and laxative.

Oh wow good to know thanks for the feed back, I knew magnesium helps with Migraines never for bowels but it makes sense cause Magnesium looses the Blood vessels !!

Thanks sweetie

Have you tried any of the over the counter fiber products- like citucel, metamucil or fiber choice ? possibly not getting enough fiber in diet- It's hard to get enough fiber when only taking in so few calories a day.

 Join. The. Club.

Ive been taking a Rx laxative called lactulose. I think it's similar to miralax but works better for me. I keep taking my stool softener even though I'm not sure I need both.

Ive been having crazy thoughts of taking that fat blocker Alli since my friend says it would cure constipation :-p. maybe if I get desperate lol.

U might want to check with ur doc before using alli, powerful stuff,  and its not likely that u have a lot of fat in diet, we all need some fat for health...

Yeah.....that was a joke. The rx laxative works well enough for now. I don't do diet pills.

Miralax daily and magnesium citrate. I use both and they work well. The mag. cit. I get at our local health food store as a tablet.

One other thought...

You're drinking 64 oz of water a day? Can you up that? I have heard several people say that they are not properly hydrated until they use the following formula to determine how much to drink:

current weight in pounds/2= number of ounces of fluid needed

So, once you get to goal (assuming you're not there, based on your ticker info), 65oz would be enough. But for now, again, if your ticker is current, you would need more like 85oz. I had to use a combination of upping my fluids, miralax, and benefiber to keep constipation at bay.

Hope that helps!
