Sleeved

Hi, posting this from my kindle so I hope it works.

I was sleeved on Monday!! Still at the hospital but hopefully going home today. For those of you that remember, I had some bug bites that were concerning, doc said he could do the surgery around them. Ran into a few minor complications, here's why I'm still at the hospital.

First the surgeon ran really late so I didn't get out of surgery til almost 8. Had issues with pain management so spent another few hours in PACU. Ended up with a private room though

The first night I spiked a slight fever, so the surgeon did not want to take out GN tube or do leak test. I ended up convincing him to take out the tube later that night but still no water

Spiked another fever Tuesday night, but doc said I could do the leak test at 9am. Did it, finally got cleared for water at 2pm. Because of fever had to stay on stage 1 Wednesday.

Spiked no fever and actually slept a few hours last night. Got to start clear liquids today. About to start hour 3 of clear liquids. Yum! I've been so thirsty! Have some really large incision sites so had to get a binder to wear but it helps. Been walking at least every hour and sipping! Hopefully I'll get full liquids soon and then can go home! I've been very thirsty since surgery but not hungry at all which feels great! I'm sipping up to 4 oz per hour now. They've put me back meds by mouth so hopefully I'll get to post again later saying sleeved and home P.S. I love my sleeve!

Wow, sorry to hear you had complications.  But it sounds like things have turned around and you are doing well now.  The worst should now be behind you and every day you should feel a little bit better.

So glad those bug bites didn't cause a problem and he went ahead with your surgery. I've been thinkin' about you!
Are the larger incision sites because of the complications?
Great to hear that your spirits are up and you are on your way weigh!!! Congrats!!

I'm glad too! I'm not sure why the larger sites. There are 2 that are particularly large; even tho I'm on dilaudid the doc said pain meds likely won't help the pain from those two. I didn't have any drains in so that might have made a difference as well?

Your Kindle did the trick!  I love mine, but I haven't tried anything like this from it. Hmm.

I'm sorry you got off to a bit of a rough start but am thrilled that you are on track.  I hit the loser's bench only 3 days before you, but there is plenty of room.  Settle in and get ready to lose!
