Today I started on purees and can have tuna, eggs, soft meats, etc.. I started with one egg & a little melted cheese. I took very tiny bites, chewed well and stopped after 5-6 bites. About 80% of the egg is left. I didn't feel any restriction but I burped and my tummy made a growling noise so I stopped eating. I feel like I could eat more, much more. but the burp & tummy growl, is that a warning to stop? What will happen if I eat more? or am I just being overly cautious? Is 20% of one egg too little to cause restriction? Imput please?

The Burp and Growl of your stomach is completely normal, mine was so loud from week 1 to week 8, it does settle down as your stomach gets use to foods. As far as if it is a sign that your full, it is different for everyone, for me I know I am full when I feel full, I don't burp nor do I get any pain or sharpness in my chest, I never have. Remember your new stomach can only hold a few ounces at a time so after a few bites and you do not feel full use your judgement, don't let the noises and burping scare you off from eating, they are normal sounds.

Well that little gurgle/growl is part of the process.  New tummy is just saying howdy-do to the whole eating thing.   Someone gave their new tummy a hilarious nickname - of course I can't remember it now....

I posted an egg question earlier this week because my doc and nut said they cannot be scrambled, they have to be cooked "loose", runny.  YUK!  Quite a few posts I have read, as either a response to mine or in other chains, a lot of people seem to have had a lot of trouble with them in the beginning.  I finally had them, not runny but softer then I usually scramble them, with shredded cheese the other day (end of week 2) and did not have any issues.  Just eat small bites and slow.  I think it took me about 25 minutes to eat 6 tbsp. of eggs with the cheese.

I am five months out and mine still growls at me anytime I eat warm food or drink warm liquids. Sometimes it sounds like I have a guard dog inside trying to scare me off like I am a burgaler. My sign I am full is runny nose. If I eat even one bite past once my nose starts running there had better be a bathroom or trash can VERY close by! I used to get the squeaks aka hiccups but rarely do that anymore.

You are completely normal! It's going to take your body a while to adjust to whatever you start putting into it. Especially moving from puree to solids or softee's :) Don't worry! You will be eating the whole egg soon enough!

And I still get the gurgles and bupees and all that. Everyone just laughs at me :) And I laugh at myself :) I am around a lot of kids so maybe that's why!! Lol!!

Hang in there - you are doing great! Just keep testing and trying. You will know what you can and can't eat. Most of the growling and such is because you haven't had solids in a LONG time!

I also just tried my first soft food tonight. Burps and gurgles. I also wondered if that was a sign of being full.

Yes it is. I wouldn't push for more. Better to wait and eat a little more later.
