Feel horrible today - CPAP

I think that storm is heading right up the east coast and right into canada to get us. We had about 100 here today with the humidity. Wondering how I am going to get out and run in that lol. Hope you manage a good night at work. I only had mild sleep apnea so my insurance won't cover the cost of the machine. I think I am ok now, but there are many of days I feel drained but had bloodwork recently that shows I am on the border if hypothyroidism which I didn't have before surgery, so having blood work again in three months. Also my folic acids are low, and blood platelets as well so before I get treated for anything we are waiting to see what my next results look like. I almost nap everyday during my lunch break at work and literally freezing, they have the air conditioning so high at work I am normally fine if it is about 80 degrees. I don't know what I am going to do next winter lol.

Jus****ched the local and network news and the devastation was horrible.  We were on the northern edge of it (western suburb of Philly) so we didn't get it that bad -- this time.  But I'm glad your power is back on.  So many are still without.

At least you'll be able to get a better sleep tomorrow and maybe feel better.  Good luck!

Sorry! The storms werent nearly as bad down here, we didnt lose power either (which is weird because we ALWAYS lose power). But on a positive note, look at you! 106 lbs down, thats great!

Kevin...thank you for sharing. I am sorry to hear about the storms in your area. Prayers going up. And I am sorry to hear about your restless night. My cpap has battery back up. You might want to check into it when you need to replace yours.
My father in law refuses to use a cpap. he actually sleeps in an easy chair so he can breath. It is crazy!! I have mild sleep apnea. I use my EVERY night. I heard a story about someone who passed away in their sleep. They were supposed to be using their CPAP. Sad. Be blessed!!

I'm right there with you.  You couldn't pay me enough to sleep one night without my CPAP.  I love it and I would probably take my CPAP over VSG surgery, if I had to choose one thing to improve my health and quality of life.

I'm 6 pounds from goal and still need the same pressure that I used before surgery.  One thing that did change is I now have to wear a chin strap to hold my mouth shut since I lost weight.  I think my triple chin used to keep it propped shut.  LOL

I actually believe that my sleep apnea contributed to my obesity (lack of energy, lack of activity, decreased leptin) more than my obesity contributed to my sleep apnea.

I agree with you -- I cannot understand why people would choose to not wear their CPAP.  I wear a nasal pillow mask, and often have to hold my hand in front of the outflow to make sure the air is blowing, otherwise I can't even tell that it's on.  I sleep better than I ever have in my life and for the first time, I can get by on 7 or 8 hours of sleep instead of 10 and still feeling tired.

And, as an added bonus, I no longer risk my life and the lives of others by struggling to stay awake and keep my eyes open on my morning commute.

Not everyone will be cured of the their sleep apnea by dramatic weight loss, so make sure you are wearing your CPAP until your pulmonologist says otherwise.

I am sorry you had such a band night handsome, my sister in law got hit with the same storm, they still don't have power. Hope they resolve it soon for you, and you get a good nights sleep.
