Ironman! Now that I watched it, I want it even more!

Damn, I sat here and watched the Ironman from start to finish, and just cried like a baby watching the last bit where they show people coming over the finish line. I know I could never be in it to win it, but damn it is GOING ON THE BUCKET LIST. I will participate and finish at least one before I die. What an inspiration watching people coming over the finish line.

Seriously, that damn event started my whole journey to WLS and health. I came on this site and the first place I checked out was the EnF forum where there's several people who have done ironmans and that was my motivation.   I rarely get emotional over people/things I dont even know bu****ching those and reading some of the race reports,...i get teary eyed.

I think i'd settle for a half ironman (70.3) but who knows my life has in store. I just need some motivation to train for it.

I have been having a down week, sick and hurt, and I was just an emotional mess watching the people come over the finish line, especially the little old men who just fought so hard to finish! And one lady is basically dying of cancer, and trained all though her chemo and radiation, just amazing.

Awww you'll be up and running again before you know it. Did you see any of the cross fit games? I didnt even know these things existed until yesterday when i saw it at the gym...made me work out longer just so I could see it but it was pretty crazy - nothing quite like an IM experience but i was still amazed.

BIG HUG :)

Trust me - if you set a goal, make a plan for how to achieve it, you CAN do anything you set your mind to. I finished my first 5K at 340lbs one month before my VSG surgery because I worked for a year to get to that point. I wasnt the fastest or fittest but none of that matters when I crossed the finish line,.

You can do this - great job for having a great goal!

I'm planning on a half.  I have NO DESIRE to do a full one.  But I need to figure out how to afford a bike first.  I'm planning on doing a woman only Tri next spring and then we'll go from there.
