It does happen to 99% of people and it continues to happen as you get closer to goal - you have to have patience with stalls or you will quickly find yourself resorting to old habits out of frustration.

I had my first stall at 3.5 weeks. It lasted a month. In that month I lost inches no pounds. I then lost 14 lbs and had another stall that lasted a month. I think stalls are a way of life for me. I have accepted that and moved on. Once I accepted it, the battle in my head stopped. When I have a gain, I know it's not a real gain, because I haven't eaten enough calories to gain, so I assume it's just a hormone thing or a water thing. I stall, and stay the same more than I lose.

I would love a bowl of cheerios but I personally would not go there. Eating cheerios would be like smoking crack for me.

The best advice I can give anyone who is in a stall; stay in the moment and stay on the program. Up your exercise a bit and drink a ton of water. I know it's not a magic bullet, but the bottom line is there is no magic bullet.  These actions won't stop the stall, but at least you will know you are doing everything you possibly can to lose the weight.

BTW, I rarely feel full. The only time I felt full was when I was swollen after surgery for about 6 weeks. Now I have to eyeball the quantity and learn to be satisfied.

You can do this.

Best of luck,

Sharon

I realize how frustrating a stall can be but you have to try to be patient. The weight loss will come, trust me.

You will also not feel full for a while (if ever). When I am "hungry" now, I just feel empty and when I am "full", I feel pressure. This is just my experience.

Please read this link as it explains stalls:

Things get easier as time progresses. Relax, beautiful!

I would stay away from cereal/milk....it emptys too fast and you will get hungry....Stick with protein and you will do much better...You also want get the highs and lows like sugary items cause.

Im gonna get flamed here...so what else is new! lmao...BUT

IF you have a gallbladder and you want to help avoid another surgery.....GO WITH CHEERIOS!! lmao!!
for variety and for ^^^soluble fiber!!  Them there Cheerios...can make claims that its great at REDUCING CHOLESTEROL.....because its soluble fiber content!

What happens during the rapid fat loss phase....our livers are producing 2-3 times the amount of NORMAL DAILY cholesterol/bile ..  You'll see some surgeons put pts on actigall/ursodiol for 6 months (rapid fat loss phase)  to keep that bile fluidy.  Take a look around...GALLBLADDER SURGERY...is WAY UP THERE for US!! especially us gals who may have estrogen/s related issues compounding it.  You'll see peeps with cholesterol problems here including men....with INCREASES in their levels because of  what happens to us during the rapid fat loss phase.

Soluble fiber....BINDS CHOLESTEROL LADEN BILE.....so more is ELIMINATED...and  not recycled.
Why Cheerios can make such claims...same with Quaker Oats/oatmeal!! soluble fiber!!

Other ways to keep that bile fluidy...inc, adding digestive enzymes to assist w/ breakdown of protein fats/ "meats" you eat...and keep that bile fluidy...

glycine, taurine, phosphatidylcholine (soy lecithin) supplementin what Actigall/ursodiol IS without the side effects... keeps that bile fluidy .....not depositing cholesterol as it gets recycled into our gall bladders!!  What gallstones are SOLIDIFIED CHOLESTEROL/FAT!

What I do is throw a scoop of vanilla or unflavored protein powder in my oatmeal/cheerios when I eat it...or less for you....gets amino acids in me (protein supp) masks taste of protein supp,...the soluble fiber content...won't screw up your insulin either.

I still have my gallbladder...doing alternative things...even tho it went out at 2 years post op.  One way is having daily...soluble fiber in me. In over a year..I have had no gallbladder attacks, no ER visits, fever, infection (^^liver enzymes)  I have had pain (stuck stone) since starting supplementing/modifying my diet...when I do its time for another gallbladder flush. ...those gallstones are nasty! I cut em open! big hunks of waxy fat....cholesterol! its a triip to me anyway.

Cheerios are on your plan, as oatmeal was on mine....I can't think of any reason NOT to  incorporate em in your diet.  You'll still lose weight thru the rapid fat loss phase...whether you do or don't!
