I have a goal. What is yours?

Current goals:
1) To redefine my relationship with food to eat with less urgency, more normalcy.
2) To learn to be mindful and connected to my body during all eating experiences and learn to recognize/follow my body's hunger/fullness signals.
3) To redirect the energy and thoughts that used to obsess about food, dieting, sizing and weight loss to other, healthier & more interesting aspects of my life!

- get my bmi under 25 (194 pounds for me)
- remain mindful about eating and keeping a good balance
- continue to work on head hunger, emotional eating, and eating from boredom
- size 14... I actually can get into an Old Navy 14 but it is snug and they run a little larger then most stores. Smaller would be fine if that is how it plays out, but I already look pretty darn normal weight wise (albeit a *****unky normal) so I am past the embarrassment of obesity.
- get my iron levels up as I have dealt with persistent anemia despite the supplements
- get rid of the cancer and keep it at bay in part by clean eating (this is what made me decide to get wls)
- go jogging again should I decide to pick up the sport again... the girls are still a bit too much for me to comortably do this
- get plastic surgery to finish the process
- join the local gym if I can ever figure out a way to afford it
- join an exercise class... still a bit to mortified to think about doing that one, and this also goes back to not being able to afford the gym membership-
-stay on track so that I can be a positive influence on the husband to help him avoid regain (he did not have wls, but lost over 90 pounds now)
- my sister is going to get surgery now if her heart doctor clears her so be a source of inspiration and support for her

Next summer I am going to buy a kayak, hot pink, with an attached umbrella, so I do not get too much sun. I am going to get a rack for my car and I am going, on my own, to a near by lake and paddle all the way around the lake. Mind you, I have never kayaked and I do not know which lake, but I will do this. I love to go canoeing, but hate relying on having to go with someone else. I love the water and I live in Michigan, so there is tons of water nearby. Working on getting some arm muscles and this summer I am going to rent a kayak or borrow a friends to try and decide what kind to buy. Eventually, I want to go to Alaska and kayak in the Sounds near the whales. This goal isn't totally reliant on any weight goal. I would like to be thinner so it is a bit easier, since everything gets easier and easier the more I lose.
Great goals everyone. I need to probably sit down and make some more of my own, some more short term ones.

“Not many of us are living at our best. We linger in the lowlands because we are afraid to climb the mountains. The steepness and ruggedness dismay us, and so we stay in the misty valleys and do not learn the mystery of the hills. We do not know what we lose in our self indulgence. What glory awaits us if only we had the courage for the mountain climb. What blessing we should find if only we would move to the uplands of God.? JRM

Sounds awesome! I have a friend who is in her 70s and she has an amazing body for her age, she even did boudoir photos at my house when day when I had a photo shoot party and let me tell you... I was like amazed at her pics, anyways, she has been pretty active her while life she used to surf and now she kayaks and always invites me but I have always been afraid because of my weight. But now, I see me joining her next summer
Woo hoo. Best wishes. Kayaking near a whale sounds wow amazing and yet a lil scary
