Kelly, step away from the pain meds....just kidding.  I understand about the smells.  You'll be surprised that when you actually do eat something that you think smells soooo good, that the taste does not live up to the smell.  Soooo, stay on plan and know that it's really not worth it anyway.  Good job on your diversion tactic!

How funny!  Well, I just tried my formerly fav oatmeal from Quaker, Weight Control Maple and Brown Sugar.  It taste like glue now!  Like someone mentioned, your taste buds definitely change.  What smells divine will probably taste gross.  YAY for the sleeve!!

I wouldn't call it an addicition, but I definitely have a heightened sense of smell for food smells since surgery.  I can smell butter or fat from a mile away.  I can identify foods by scent that I am not sure I even smlled before.

My sense of tatse took an uptick as well.  I can now break down a food recipe from tasting and I could never do that before.

I chalk it all up to being detoxed from fat and carbs.

I never thought about it being linked to detoxing, interesting
