Mame, their sense of appropriate isn't different, it's that women that are younger than them cut them slack! They wouldn't dare say it to women their own age.

That being said, your response is working for you, so don't change it.

Thanks............the thing about this "older" gent is that he's only 7 years older than I am -- but he acts a lot elder than he is, so I guess I view hm the way you do. Still.............was a little weirded out by it LOL

its is kind of rude for strangers to comment on personal appearance. if he keeps it up, tell him you are offended by his remarks and please stop it. as fatties and former fatties, we endurred a lot of remarks about our weight and i say we should not put up with it at all. this guy probably has no clue how ridiculous he sounds. diane
