getting sick brings a whole new set of challenges
Thanks to a couple of coworkers and students, I now have a nasty sore throat, and the beginnings of what is most likely a wicked cold. Went out to dinner and got chicken tortilla soup for dinner. At this particular restaurant it is more like a chicken and green chili soup, but I know chicken soup helps. I have some green chicken soup in the freezer, but I needed chicken soup in a hurry. That will be dinner for me tomorrow.
So, I went to get some medicine to hopefully help me feel a little better. I never realized how hard it would be to find something liquid or dissolvable without sugar, high fructose corn syrup, and/or alcohol in it. I needed a liquid as most cold medicine pills are big enough to choke a horse. I finally found something so now, I'm off to try to sleep this off for a while.
Yes,it does bring new challenges.I have a cold and chest infection.
The meds, antibiotics, seems to have triggered slight irritation in my stomach and I am HUNGRY all the time.Am on PPI but boy,I am craving carbs like mad.Even had some VERY refined carbs (wendy's biscuit scon thingy) yesterday, something I havent done in 8 months.
I have also cooked up a storm today, chinese food, for the family...something I have given up doing since the sleeve.Only healthy food in this house, until yesterday.
O,and my weight have of course bounced up 3 pounds overnight because of yesterday's carbs and I hate it.So protein pancakes, antibiotics and decongestants on the menu for today!
Good luck hope you feel better soon!
Why no corn syrup or alcohol? That's the best freaking medicine :)
I used to freak out at the calories in NyQuil and then I stopped worrying about it since I know I didnt get fat drinking it. (it has a ton though lol)
