Flattering - They shared my story

So.. today has been a great day for me - I reached 200+ pounds lost and shared photos on an earlier post.  My story was picked up by Tri California Events - a company that host Triathlons in California. I am planning on and training for one of their events called Wildflower in early May.

The event I am doing is the Olympic Distance - .91 mile swim, 24 Mile Bike, 10K Run - A fairly challenging course loaded with hills and possibly heat.

Here is the posting - I thought I would share: http://www.tricalifornia.com/blog/post.cfm/drastic-determina tion-mario-samora-s-wildflower-story

WOW!

You rock!!!

Now be honest...because I noticed that there are a lot of pre-ops here that are nervous and have asked these questions, and I think  a lot of pre-op folks can really benefit from your experience...When you started this journey...were you scared? Did you fear that you wouldn't succeed? Did you ever think you'd be training for an event so amazing???

Good for you!!!!!

Go For It!!

Scared - of course! Nervous - Very!

This is all about  changing the way you think - The surgery is simply a tool  and that is all.

You have to mentally be ready to struggle, go to the gym, put in all the hard work to reap the rewards. This is not and will not be easy. Do not let anyone convince you that it will be. My advice to anyone that is on the fence is to go through the pre-op process as if you plan on having the surgery. Work your ass off "literally"  while going through it - give yourself the most strict meal plan imaginable and start the exercising immediately.  The pounds will fall off if you stick to the plan - if you feel like you can stick it out with out the surgery when your day comes, more power to you. I needed the surgery as a tool to help me when I didnt want to help myself.

Its only been nine months - but my life is not even close to the same! If anyone ever wants to hit me up please feel free. I dont mind chatting on the phone either!
