So Hungry Today

I am not sure if I a missing something in my diet or if I ate something I shouldn't have but I have been ravenously hungry all day today.  I have tried everything I know of. I have eaten a quest bar, increased protein, and even eaten a piece of fruit. Nothing seems to be helping. This isn't stomach acid either. I am sure I will be fine tomorrow but today was hell.

When I get like that, warm drinks usually help me - warm chicken broth or some diet hot chocolate.  Or I just eat lots of SF jello :-p

I agree with the warm drink, it helps me! I love the Bariwise Hot Chocolate because I also get my protein.

When I get that way the only thing that helps is pushing protein and getting beyond hydrated. I will tell you that a Quest Bar for me is like death when I'm overly hungry - even though it's a lot of fiber it has just enough sugar to trigger me into wanting more and spikes my hunger. The fruit most likely would do the same thing.

Another thing that really helps me (if you have the luxury of being able to do this - I usually don't, but when I do, boy....) is to take a short nap. For some reason just a little sleep seems to reset my hunger mechanism. This one never fails me!

Hopefully, tomorrow will bring a different experience, but if not, try the various suggestions to see what works for you.

Fortunately the quest bars don't trigger me. I haven't had many triggers. Popcorn was one but I have managed to get that under control. I think my issue is sleep. I was looking at my log and while my cals and carbs have been a little higher, I don't think it was the cause of my hunger. When I thought about it I realized I am back down to 5 to 6 hours of sleep from 7-8 and I am still exercising heavily, so I am reasonably certain it is lack of sleep. I am taking a full spectrum of vitiamins today just in case I was missing something, but I doubt it will have an impact.

Quest bar..... not gonna help

Fruit.....definitly not gonna help

For "me"...... chicken hangs the longest and has the greatest sense of satiety.

I tried protein first. Didn't help. Chicken still makes me vomit, I wi**** didn't. I went the carb route because I have had some tough workouts this week but it didnt help. Today ultra low carb to make up for it. So far today I haven't been hungry. I am pretty sure it is lack of sleep. I reviewed my logs last night for the last couple weeks. Food seemed to be inline and after thinking it through I realized I have slipped back to 5-6 hours of sleep and I was getting a solid 7-8. Hopefully I will be back on track now.

Yes, very big problem and contributed significantly to how I got so big in the first place. I don't really like to sleep or didn't before WLS now I really enjoy getting 8 hours. But the past week or so I have been more like 5-6 hours and working out a lot so not giving your body time to regenerate everything it needs.
