My surgery is scheduled with Dr. Aceves. I know several folks who had surgery with him and they were over the moon pleased. I really like the three days in the hospital and three leak tests, too, since I am having to travel for my surgery.

Thanks for the info. I am looking over these doctors and a female in TJ although TJ is pretty yuck
That female surgeon in TJ makes huge sleeves. Just avoid Tijuana, Juarez, and Monterrey. Verrrry dangerous cities right now.
I'm sorry I just had my sleeve done not even a month ago in TJ by Dr Kelly. I had no issues with going there and the city wasn't that bad. I survived TJ just fine and my sleeve is just as good. I had a great experience there. I mean really we are going for surgery not so spend time shopping and laying on the beach. I was picked up at the airport in San Diago and brought over and brought to my hotel and then again picked up and brought to my hospital for the surgery.
JMHO I would say unless you had yours done there it is a bit inappropriate to make a biased opinion like that in a forum like this, there are many places to get sleeves done and yes TJ is such a place.

Not sure why you are sorry. You are welcome to your opinion.
However, my comments are not based on opinion. They are based on fact. The Mexican, US, and Canadian govts actively warn about Tijuana. It is not the entire country of Mexico that is dangerous. It is specific cities based on crime stats. So please don't shoot the one reporting the facts. If you don't like the facts go to the source. The Mexican govt, the US govt, and the Canadian govt. I have no need to have surgery in TJ to see if they are telling the truth in their crime stats. I merely believe the crime stats.
I am with you. You can go by crime stats but at the end of the day, every city has good parts and bad parts. I never felt threatened.

On the fence about self-pay options and if Mexico is the right choice (or scared of that option)? Let my experience (first time ever in Mexico) be your guide. Don't let fear hold you back!

If you are referring to Dr. Valenzuela, her sleeves arent huge. Mine is 34. And I felt more comfortable in Tijuana than I felt in many cities I have visited in the states. Don't wander to the bad parts... but thats with any city! I went alone... and there were MANY others there... it is no more dangerous than traveling to Chicago... the city with one of the world murder rates. Does that stop people from visiting? Nope.
