I've lost about 50 pounds (that includes 6 I lost before the initial consultation with my doctor) and everyone at work is starting to notice. The attention is driving me NUTS! I'm usually a shy, quiet person. The last two days I've had almost fifteen people come up to me and tell me I'm getting skinny. I'm glad people are noticing, and that this surgery is making a difference, but I hate all of the attention!.

Congrats on your weight loss! angry

Try to get used to the attention, it won't last forever and it can help hold you accountable to keep losing weight.

All the best, Katy

consult weight 241 (had not been accurately weighed for over 10 years, my medical records just said "wheelchair") high weight was probably closer to 260.

After a while people will stop mentioning your weight loss and then you'll be wishing they were still telling you.  I know you're shy but you have to embrace the skinnier, sexier you.

The compliments are a good thing.  Keep up the amazing work!!

50 pounds is a remarkable loss. That is the amount of some young kids. Remember you deserve the attention. You worked hard for  this. Embrace it because this is your time to shine. Congrats and keep up the awesome work.

That's not a bad problem to have! Wouldn't we all prefer people to comment on and notice how great we are looking instead of how miserable we look? Instead of how we take up so much space? Instead of how we barely fit in chairs or through doorways? Instead  of how snug our clothes are or how we wear tents to cover ourselves?

Enjoy it, hon. You're doing GREAT :)

Congrats on your success!!!  I've had the same problem, it's not easy to get all the attention when you're used to trying to go unnoticed!  I've just embraced it and say thanks to the many who are making comments....it is secretly a wonderful feeling to finally be noticed...but I don't think I'll ever get used to it.  But you should be very proud of your own successes and feel very good about what you've already acheived!  Good luck on your journey!

I totally understand, right out of the gate my BFF would call me Skinny everytime she saw me no matter how was around. I ended up snapping at her. Made me and her feel bad but now she has toned it back. I'm SOOOOO glad.

Embrace it!  It's time to let go of the shy quiet person who carried that weight in her head as much as her body.

You are transforming and people want to cheer you on.  I think you'll find more people noticing you as you get closer to your goal weight.  Might as well enjoy the ride!

I'm not one that likes the attention and I can relate.  I really don't want to be called skinny for sure.  I just say thank you and move on to either a new topic or literally leave and walk down the hall.  I have only told two people at work about my surgery and I don't want to be questioned about it either.  It was a personal decision for me and I don't need or want some of the really negative people voicing their opinions about something that took me years to decide was the right thing for me.
