I'm sorry I scared you! I certainly didn't mean to. I just know that I wish that I had been warned before the first time that it happened to me.

I love this forum, everyone taking the time to encourage me and offer suggestions. Thank you, My main point was should I cut back my daily calories to accommodate for the extra donut calories, which would result in a reduction of protein since most of my daily calories are protein.
I think the consensus is : I should maintain my 100 grams of protein , increase my water and extra exercise is encouraged. I just walked 20 flights of stairs , have already consume 72 ounces of water and I am on track with my protein thanks again for all your encouragement _deb
Yup, getting back on plan with no chastisement and no caloric adjustments is definitely the right thing to do.
I would suggest that it's even more important to spend some time learning from this experience so you don't repeat it. What were you thinking, feeling and doing when this happened? What steps can you take to lessen the likelihood that it will happen again? If you can use this as a learning experience, your donut will not be wasted :-).

I don't know what I'd do if I worked around donut lovers! I'd have to stuff my face with dense protein before walking into work so I'd be too full to eat them. I don't like all donuts only the glazed ones for some reason. The plainest ones you can get. Good that it's not the worst one but bad that I like them at all. I have been around donuts for days due to the family and have to just put something over the top of them or try to hide them so I am not tempted. It's not easy especially when it's TOM. I have caved in once during TOM and it wasn't pretty. Thankfully my cravings weren't too bad the next day. Hope that will be your truth too. As long as you get right back to the protein first mantra right away and don't eat more then you should be okay.
I don't know about a whole doughnut (I think I would hurl) but I might allow a small, sweet treat in my planned diet on a low cal day as long as I am fully understanding everything about it (can I allow for the extra calories, is it a high protein/high fluid/low salt day, making sure it's not TOM because that could start a typhoon of bad choices to follow, and that I am in control of it and it's not in control of me). I say 'no' daily for months so I will be 'normal' and just do things necessary to moderate (even moderation). I don't know how far you are post-op so...that would be a factor too. I'm finding that I actually am not enjoying sugar products like I used to pre-op. I'm becoming more of a chips/crunch/salt person. I've noticed that I don't get in near the amount of salt that I used to (and I don't even like salt...well, I didn't used to like salt). So, I'm actually having to watch for new 'trigger' foods that I never had to think of before...go figure! Also, I have found that if I try a 'taste' of something and then I follow that up with a sugar free altoid or something similar to get the taste out of my mouth so I don't have to think about it anymore.
