Hi Kids! My first post :)
I have been lurking on these forums for years, so it's a bit surreal to be posting today. But I want to learn more from you all and to become a part of this community. Like so many of you, I have struggled with excess weight almost all of my life. Two years ago, I was diagnosed with diabetes, and I have successfully managed it with modest weight loss and staying out of the bakery :). A few months ago, I turned 50, and I am ready to step it up: my surgery is March 31; I chose the sleeve. Yesterday, as I began the pre-op fast, I weighed myself for the first time in 17 years. Embracing the uncomfortable and uncompromising truth on the scale is a new beginning for me. I am happy to be here and ready to learn!
Hello and welcome! Read here often (though it sounds like you already do!) and you'll learn a TON. Best of luck on your surgery. You'll be on the other wide before you know it!
