I'm 18 days post-op and am doing cloudy liquids but can only eat about 5-6 bites before I'm full/feel very uncomfortable and start burping or hiccuping.  I'm getting all my protein & vitamins in easily just cant seem to eat 1/4 cup of any soup.  Hows everyone else's progress?

I would suggest going to 1 ounce (1/8 cup) and see how you feel after that for a day. You might be eating too much or too fast or both.

That's about right. 1/4 cup. I'm on soft foods and can eat half a Greek yogurt (2.5 oz), 1/4 cup of refried beans or ricotta and sometimes can't finish all of  it. I can also eat about a 1 ounce meatball or slice of deli meat.

Youre doing great! Btw I'm 22 days out.

For me those are signs that I have ate too much and or I need to stop.  You sound to me like you are right on track.  Remember that your portion sizes should change drastically from where they were before surgery.  I am 18 months out and I still only eat 3 to 3.5 oz of meat and I am satisfied for another 4 hours.  Sometimes I might throw in a couple bites of vegetable but not usually.  Early on, I could only maybe drink 2 oz every 15 to 30 minutes without being very uncomfortable.  Take full advantage of your restriction right now and do not pu****  By about 6 -8 weeks, make sure you are getting all of your protein requirements in each day and you will succeed.  Right now just do the best you and try and improve on the day before.  Congrats on your recent surgery!

don't pu**** to try to eat more. if you are really worried, call your doctor but this sounds normal to me. the main thing is getting protein. maximize weight loss now. you will be able to eat more in 6 months and at 2 years you will wish you still were that restricted.    gl.   diane
