Whatcha eating today VSGers???? Saturday!!
Yay weekend! I'm home from my Saturday morning tradition of going to the farmers market. Boy have my purchasing habits changed! I can no longer buy ALL THE TOMATOES and have to rein myself in a little bit. Which is sad since they just look so pretty!
Last night I had lettuce for the first time in 3-4 years and it didn't screw my system up!! I haven't been able to eat leafy greens of any sort for years because my stomach rebelled and would cramp up horribly and then I'd have horrible diarrhea. But last night I decided to give lettuce a try and I didn't have any problems! I'm so freaking happy!! In a few weeks I might give spinach a go and see how that works out. I know that leafy greens will never be a big part of my diet due to space reasons, but to have them be something I -can- eat is awesome.
1: frankenshake
2: tuna cakes
2.5: yogurt if desired
3: fajitas! (made with flank steak)
water and vites: on track
exercise: a much needed day of rest. My foot was in a ton of pain yesterday and last night, so I'm hoping that my weekend of rest and new orthotics will set it straight.

The fajitas sound great! I need to cook more steak at home. I have noticed that I am ordering most of the time when I am out lately.
I am doing the Biggest Loser 1/2 marathon tomorrow and got to see Tara Costa speak this morning when I was picking up my packet. It was pretty cool -- she is gorgeous!

My partner actually told me the other day "we haven't had chicken in a while...." I've been cooking lots of beef, lamb, and pork since we buy our meat in bulk from a local farm and have had a ton of it in the freezer! This week I will make more chicken :P

OMG, you guys make me laugh! I love to cook and it's not really about eating it as much as making it then practically giving it away to my family....I'm just wired that way. Maybe something to do with being a single, empty nester?
I wanted to cook chili (Texan here.....it's in our DNA!) So I grabbed the vegetarian soy crumbles, pintos and tomato sauce and threw it all in the crock pot with all the yummy chili seasonings and let it cook a few hours. Took out half to give to my vegetarian neice for frito pie and pureed the rest. I made chili "ice cubes" and popped those out into a ziplock for when I get to eat it and I'm back at school! Tons of protein from the soy crumbles and pintos and virtually no fat. It was fun!
I'm still doing the shakes.....really liking the ones from GNC....Lean 25 strawberry or orange cream....not bad at all!
Sounds tasty! You'll be able to eat them soon enough :D
