What would you order here?
I love looking at menus and playing the "what would I order at this place?" game. My parents are taking me here on Friday night. My mom said, with concern in her voice, "they have small plates, so you should have lots of options?" (She's so sweet. Last night, over Skype, she greeted me with "You're so skinny!" And I said, "Mom, please, skinnier is the word you're looking for." She laughed and said, "You're so skinnier!" lolz.)
Anyway, I'm leaning toward the tuna tartare or deviled eggs, depending on what I'm feeling like at the moment. What would you get from this menu?

Oh yum! There are so many things on here I would want to order. Depending on my mood, I would go for the meat balls, skirt steak, scallops -- short ribs too.
I feel eating out is not tough at all. I just don't typically eat the carb (maybe a couple of bites) and then end up having leftovers. :)
Enjoy!
I feel the same way about eating out! The only time it has irked me was when I was at GenCon and had no fridge/microwave so couldn't take leftovers "home" with me. Otherwise? I still enjoy it.
I've also found that I'm less possessive about my restaurant leftovers these days. The food I bring home tends to still be enough to make a good size lunch for my guys (especially since I box up the sides and stuff that I've barely touched), so I tend to offer my leftovers to them and they're happy :D
I should add that while I've always been the type of person who likes to look at menus before going to a place, it's even more useful now since it helps me to make good choices ahead of time and not feel like I'm holding everyone up by reading every single thing once I get to the restaurant. Hehe.

Your comment about possessivenes**** home! I used to act like a wolf with a bone. Seriously, if you got between me and my doggie bag I would take you out! Now I can leave food on the plate, share, not obsess about hoarding food. It's such a change in mindset and I'm so grateful! And scoping out menus ahead of time is helpful (I did it last night). Less chance you'll make a bad last minute decision.
Heh, exactly! I'm so much better at sharing now. :D

Wow. This sounds wonderful. I'd be torn between the sea scallops with mushrooms in asparagus sauce or the salmon on a bed of spinach with pine nuts, bell peppers and cucumber. yum.
Enjoy
