I am officially down 102 lbs since January(first visit) and 92 lbs since surgery.  About 3 lbs less according to my home scale and weighing myself au natural.  I did not want to freak out the staff by stripping down for the weigh in.

I was taken off my metformin when I was relased from the hospital.   At the 3 month check up, I was taken off 1 blood pressure med and the other 2 were cut in half.  Today, I was taken off all BP meds.  So now I am only taking my gout medication and my water pill for my lower leg edema.  The gout meds will probably be for life as I had gout attacks in my early 20's when I weighed 200.  Hopefully within the next 7 months, the edema issue will resolve itself.

I also had a body composition analysis done last week and I got the results today.  My fat% is 39%.  Their  scale said 55% back in March but not sure how accurate that was but I am sure it was well over 50% and probably 55 to 60%

My total lean + bone mass was 160 lbs.  I think with those numbers 180-190 is about as low as I could get.  I asked the nurse practioner what would be a good goal weight and she said they had me down for 220. I found out I am a fat head as my head is 25% fat.Surprisingly, the highest percentage of fat was in my arms at over 50%.  Legs were 35%.  Of course it takes some strong legs to carry this load around.  And lastly, I was surprised my trunk area came in at 39%.  I will get another BCA done in a few months.

Thanks and yes I do.  I have gone from 54" pants to 44" and 4XL shirts to L to XL.

It has taken a lot of effort but the sleeve has certainly made it easier.  Getting moving on exercising has been a large part of my success so far and that really only started July 1st.  Thanks to Keith on here for doing his daily exercise report.  That finally motivated me to get moving.  That is the main reason I continue those today.

The 6 month mark has always been the tipping point in previously weight loss endeavors so we shall see how things look in a few months.

I'm not sure if you're male or female but if you have 160 lbs. of lean body mass I'm assuming you're male.  Going down to 190 lbs. puts you at 15% body fat, which is pretty low for someone who isn't an athlete.  Not that it isn't a worthy goal - I think it is!

What you need to understand is that you WILL lose lean body mass as you continue to lose weight, it's almost inevitable.  Even if you are diligently lifting weights it's almost impossible not to lose lean tissue considering the low amount of calories and carbs we take in after WLS.  I just don't want you to be bummed out when you get close to 190 lbs. and you find that your body fat % is higher than you want.

By the way, you are doing FANTASTIC!  Keep up the great work

Thanks Tracy.  I'm a guy.  I wasn't thinking when I calculated 15%.  22-25 is more realistic especially without plastics.
