When I lay down it seems really tight on my chest and some gurgling, does anyone have any advice? I am  chewing gas-x and putting the small pills under my tongue still

Ask your surgeon! It will make you feel better and the surgeon is the only one who can give you true explanations and advise you.

Just to share my own experience, I had a fair amount of chest tightness and weirdness right at first. I had a knot in my throat for several days. My surgeon told me it could be esophogeal spasms and that made sense to me. But it did resolve after a little bit of time. I sipped stronger, visualized the esophogus muscle going downward. I also started acid meds the second week and that helped tremendously, too. Maybe you need an acid reducer? I'm just taking Prilosec.

Don't worry - some of the weird stuff that you feel now will get better. BUT I asked my surgeon about everything! Don't be afraid to call and ask!

Best wishes! It gets easier! I'm six weeks out and things are much more normal!

Definitely ask your surgeon.  Also walk as much as possible :)
