Topic: RE: Acid reflux

I honestly don't measure but as of lately I'm unable to eat without this problem. I've had acid reflux prior to the surgery. I had chicken brith for dinner and I was fine I feel it's some if the food or the protonix I'm taking it gives me nausea to where food grosses me out. I see my doctor today hoping for positive outcome.

I would say to go see your doctor. But by chance are you still measuring your food? Do you think you are overeating at times? Could that cause acid reflux? Have you tried under eating your sleeve? Meaning instead of 8 oz eating 5 oz at one sitting. Eating and then laying down could cause acid reflux too.

Yes, I started at 212. I opted for the sleeve. Not because I was scared of the bypass, but because I didn't have gerd and my doctor felt confident that I would do well with the sleeve.

I remember sitting in the doctors office talking to my surgeon telling him that he was not the person who was getting ready to have 3/4 of their stomach removed. And I will always remember what he said to me at that time. He said that no matter what he and his team will always be here for me. He said I can come there for the rest of my life. They will monitor my blood work, my mental health, my diet etc...this is the best decision I ever made. I am still a size 2 and health. I am just your average joe when it comes to intelligence. But I followed what they told me to do and have been successful and just like others on the board, I want to see others successful too.

You are doing this for health reason. The fact that you will look sexier afterwards is just a bonus. I told my husband of 23 years that this was a hard decision for ME. He did not come to any of the meetings to support me and I was fine with that because I am strong. He now enjoys what he sees and tries to keep me on track. But I keep myself on track. It has been very easy for me because I like the way I look and I don't have any health problems. Win, win

You have to make the decision for yourself and let his feelings about it catch up to yours. He will be supportive later.
