Having a different opinion on a topic does not mean it is uneducated opinion.  As a point of interest, I never stated my opinion one way or the other. I don't grasp why you are storming off in a huff, not that you need to explain.  Its not unusual for husbands and wives to have conflicting opinions, and certainly people on message boards will also have conflicting opinions. Good Luck.

I read yesterday that she was fired because the ratings were down after her weight loss and her ELABORATE wedding to Al Reynolds (she got people to give her freebies if she would mention them on the View.).    My PERSONAL opinion is that in regards to her weight loss - it isn't that she lost the weight - but when people in public arenas lose that much weight - we all want to know HOW and she refused to discuss it - plus I do believe she got more snooty with the loss and this may have turned people off.  I don'****ch the show much (I'm at work) - but she seemed to always be flipping her hair now and just acting snooty - when before she was full of fun.  Years ago Tonja Harding (the ice skater) was interviewed on a show and she said the only thing she wouldn't discuss was the knee bashing incident  - that is the ONLY thing that made anyone WANT to interview her - so when they asked the question - Tonja walked off the show.  I think the same is true with Starr - people WANT to hear about the weight loss and she won't discuss it.   If someone on the show came in with a body cast - people would want to know what happened and can't concentrate on the rest of the show until they know.    Just my 2 cents.

I know I was turned off by Star Jones lying about NOT having surgery, and I think that is what Rosie criticized Star for.  Star Jones was a diva of the worst order and she should have been canned!  She, in my opinion, only facilitates the stigma that we have to fight as WLS patients.  Why lie about having the surgery?  She’s in the perfect position to explain, educate, and foster understand of what we all go through.  Her extreme weight loss is wonderful, but she should be honest about how she did it.

 I had my V.S.G on 11/21/05

Star looks wonderful, beautiful and she comes across as a diva.  I think that is why everyone is restentful about the weight loss.  It's not the loss, it's her attutude.     I think some of us have had friends think we have changed and we don't see what they are talking about.  We feel so good about ourselves, we buy new clothes and we may even come out of our shells...not that Star ever was in a shell.  But  our self-confidence increases and some people around us can't adjust to the butterfly coming out of the shell especially if we get smaller than them.  Then there are some *****joice with us as we spread our wings and fly. as long as we don't loose too much and get smaller than them too.  Angie

I think she was fired because she became a bridzilla  and didnt even have to pay for the wedding because she panhandled sponsors

Someone like Star who made everything about herself everyone else's business(the wedding, her love life, her opinions about everything), and then turns around and says the way she lost her weight is no ones business is just asking for trouble.  NUFF SAID!

That is an excellent point.  She blabbed about EVERYTHING in her life and then refused to admit she had wls.  It is her right to do that, but it's also OUR RIGHT to say as viewers that we don't like it.  So the ratings went down.  Something tells me this is not the end of Star Jones ... Some idiot will give her her own show or something.

I agree with the other posters, Star is a self serving biotch. I think that's the real reason she was "let go". Most people just don't like her anymore. It was Rosie that said she didn't lose the weight by doing pilates, but she didn't say anything negative about WLS.  Star has acted very unprofessional in the way she's handled her departure. Obviously Barbra was very put off by that, saying that Star "betrayed" them.  I'm not a huge Rosie fan either, but at least she is kind-hearted, generous and nice. I'm sure the show will be even better with her on it. Beverly

Rosie is not that nice. Don't you remember how she acted when her shows were canned? Didn't she sue her own magazine too?  And remember when she and Madonna fell out? She said some things!!  Get her in a debate with any right-wing person, she can be MEAN!
