Was Star Jones fired for losing weight?

I don't know if this has been discussed before but...I was really angry to read the Barbara Walters said Star Jones was let go from "The View" because the audience was turned off by her extreme weight loss???  That sucks!!!  Anyone else read that?  I know Rosie O'Donnell critized Star for having the surgery and she's going to be the new co-host next season.  I think Rosie was wrong to say anything considering all the bad things people have said about her.  The View won't be the same with Rosie. She makes everything out of a joke or a liberal argument!

Thanks for agreeing with me Triple C. I don't see why it is such a big deal for her to admit she had WLS. It's nothing to be ashamed of. I hope you do well with your surgery next month. I'm so happy I had mine.

Hi Barbara. Thanks for your kind words. I'm really excited about starting my new life and I can't wait until these last 14 days are up. I guess it's the unknown that I'm more excited about...weird I know . As far as Star having WLS...I'd guess she did but of course that's JMO. Also while my children were in the hospital last yr. their respiratory therapist told me that Star had WLS at John Hopkins, the RT said she was working there at the time. However I heard the reason she doesn't want to admit about have WLS is because at some point she bad mouth it (WLS) and I guess now she feels as though she's eating/ate her own words . That said, I'm not telling a lot of people only the ones very close to me about my surgery. I'd guess it's different for someone in the spot light though.  I do think all this drama surrounding her wedding and WL caused her demise though. Have a great day, ~~~Triple C.~~~

They all are biatches...they even call themselves that on the show.   Tv.com said "Walters said" it was because of her extreme weight loss and glitzy wedding.  So what?  That ditzy Kelly Ripa talks about her hubby and social activities all the time and no one says anything.   I think Barbara is getting senile. She's taking over the show now and she's boring. And that Joy Behar is so nasty.  She has sex on the brain and is NOT funny.  She won't hit it off with Rosie.  Two comedians trying to outdo each other with lude jokes.  Elizabeth talks to much and too fast.  Thinks she knows everything. Star added more variety. And so what if she wanted to keep the surgery a secret. Hollywood stars do it all the time and tell no one cares.  For anyone who cares, Star will be on Larry King tonight telling her story.

Lmaooooooo ^5 I would give you a High 10! WHO CARES it's Starr's BUSINESS and like us we can chose whom we want to know! Starr does NOT owe anyone ANY EXPLINATION! If Barbra or even Joy were to leave would there be SO MUCH to talk about? Hmmmm makes me wonder!!!!!!

Nobody knows why her contract wasn't going to be renewed.  All speculation.  It's her choice to tell or not to tell just like it is ours!  I personally think Star is a lady of class.

I love Kelly Ripa!!  LOL

Didn't read that ... I have the feeling that Star's Diva Attitude had more to do with it than anything.  Guess she didn't want to listen to anyone, including Barbara Walters. Annette
