I bought some cereal with Golden Flax.  Is this like the cereal Allbran?  Are there any laxative properties in flax?  Didn't want to do an exhastive search like Web MD, just wondering what flax does to a average persons digestive system...Brian

Not a laxative per sey. But flax seed is very good to help with regularity. I used to use ground flax seed all the time in my yougart. its yummy, and it helped to combat constipation.

With laxatives, you might have major explosion from effects, but with flax seed, I never had that feeling...ever.

Flax is high in fiber, and fiber helps keep stuff moving through our intestines.  Most seeds also have protein and are an excellent source of healthy fat ... Flaxseeds are an excellent plant source of omega 3 fatty acids. Annette
