Can we only absorb 30 grams protein at a time?

I have always thought we could only absorb 30 grams of protein at a time, and now I’m being told we can absorb more. Does anyone have a website I can go to that talks about how much protein we can absorb at once?

There is no set answer... I have done a lot of research and the number I came across the most was 30g at a time for a non-WLS patient... I couldnt find anything relating to those who had WLS. The numbers were all over the board from as low as 20 up to around 60 but 30 popped up the most so I just stick with the rule of 30.

I've heard 30 grams but then my dr said that they really are not sure how much we can absorbe at one time.

My DR said to keep 20 grams as an amount that can be absorbed at once. He would rather I under estimate so that I get plenty than not get enough.

During leadership training on OH, it was said that our bodies can absorb 24 to 28 grams of protein in 1 hour.  I hope this helps answer your question.

25 to 30. More than that is a waste. Especially a drink, because for 1 thing,  it leaves the system faster than natural food cources like chicken and beef. These stick around the stomach and gut longer and allow for a little more absorption of proteins.
