I suppose there is a possibility that instead of SF syrup, reg syrup was given accidently-? I've never had this happen, and I always order SF skinny lattes (& at different stores) but you never know.  vicki

I went to get a sugar free skinny latte, and I just happened to see the barista put regular syrup in it. I know people don't realize how sick we will be with just a little mistake like that! Beth

I am always paranoid that this is going to happen! In fact, the first time I tried the SF Cinnamon Dolce syrup, it tasted so great that I was sure it couldn't be SF!! haha But, sure enough, the next time it was JUST as tasty. But, that would definitely suck for a WLS-er to accidentally get the full-sugar syrup.

As it has been mentioned, the syrups may be sugar free.... I know the local shoppe I go to showed me the actual bottle after I asked if it had any sugars in the syrup.   Bottled has 0 sugar in it. The counter guy offered to let me read the label and I did... it was purely sweetened with splenda however my latte still HAD carbs (aka Sugars)... WHY?  MILK Regardless if its whole milk, 2%, 1% or skim milk, ALL milk have natural sugars.  Therefore all coffee and beverages made with milk will always have carbs (aka sugars)....  doesn't mean they added sugar but the milk has the sugar in it. Now personally I don't dump off of milk and was able to tolerate milk shortly after surgery, THANK GOD! Cause I love milk!

Starbucks 'milk' is really a 'lite base' and who the heck knows what it contains.  So don't order them.  Order our own OH Cinnamon Slim from Starbucks.  Then you know you are getting no sugar added.  I just saw someone reply about soy milk instead of skim....and I plan to ask for that next time.  I had one in Nassau....and its really good.  The Venti should be no more than about 60 calories, not sure about the soy base.  They didn't have the cinnamon or caramel syrup on Nassau so I had them make it with Vanilla and Hazelnut and it was really really really good.  Will do that again. Cinnamon Slim from Starbucks 4 pumps SF Cinnamon Dolce (or Vanilla) 2 pumps SF Caramel syrup (or Hazelnut) 6 ounces of skim or soy (for a Venti) 4 Splenda packets 2 s******presso (decaf is good) ice NO WHIP (I have them sprinkle cinnamon on top) You have to tell them over and over to put the ice in it and make it like a frapp.  It's really just a latte made with ice in the blender....but some of the coffee kids don't get it.  I put the 'recipe' on a page of business cards and keep a couple in my purse along with my Starbucks gift card.  I just give them the card and then they tend to get it right.   Anyway....you can enjoy spending 4 bucks for a cup of coffee at Starbuck's just like everyone else....LOL. Hugs Charlie

Thanks Pat.  I had the pictures taken on the ship and I had to buy them. I really was pleased with them.  Kathy is so photogenic, but I'm always goofy.   I posted both the pictures and the one of Kathy and me at dinner in the album I'm building at Kodak.  Just too many pictures to download and this way it won't take so long to to see them.  If you want, go check the album....I have a full length shot in that dress.....I do so love Coldwater Creek....(outlet of course).  Thanks to Kathy's Lipo in a Box, I was able to be not so jiggly in it. http://www.kodakgallery.com/I.jsp?c=13vsm3lp.c40cwjjl&x=0&h= 1&y=-wnck8m Hugs Charlie

Starbucks 'milk' is really a 'lite base' and who the heck knows what it contains.  So don't order them. Hmmm, this may vary by location. At the Starbucks I go to I see them pouring the actual skim milk from the gallon container that it is sold in at the grocery store when I order my latte, so I know it's just milk. I've seen them open the seal on a new one, so I know it's not just filled with lite base.

I asked the manager here about it some time back.  He told me they use a lite base in all the drinks.  Maybe with the excption of lattes I don't know......I was ordering frappachinos.  I always ask.  And I never order lattes .  He did tell me he would not recommend the lite base to a diabetic. From the internet It’s a reasonable question, since some of the coffee chain’s sweetest drinks pack as many calories as fast food. As Marian Burros recently reported in The New York Times, a 20-ounce “venti” Caffe Mocha with whipped cream contains 490 calories, which is on a par with a McDonald’s Quarter Pounder with cheese. Moreover, the Java Chip Frappuccino with whipped cream bulges at 650 calories (this is from a starbuck's employee) i think starbucks drinks are too unhelathy [sic], and i work there. sometimes i would use the sugar-free syrpus instead of regular, or add a little non-fat milk to a regular drink, and the frapp-lite base? looks a heck of a lot like the normal stuff when you stick whipped cream on it. maybe this is bad (i’m pretty sure it is bad) but i’ll do it anyway because i hate contributing to the growing unhealth of this country. we had this “go venti” slogan for a while, that i absolutely hated and refused to participate in. They do have a lite base and they do use it.  Not me.  It's good they use fat free milk in the lattes.....   Hugs Charlie
